Jay Anthony Arruda, of Melbourne, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident on
February 23, 2026, leaving behind his children, Whitney and Justin Arruda, his brother Bill, and
a large, loving family who will forever feel his absence.
In his younger years, he found joy in the thrill of fishing trips, shooting days, offroading,
and anything that brought a rush of adventure. Even when life slowed him down, he never lost
his love for those things; they remained a part of his spirit and the stories he loved to share.
In his later years, he shifted his focus to what mattered most: family, friendship, quiet
moments, and gratitude. He spent his days reading, reflecting, and appreciating the people
around him. His warm heart and unforgettable smile made him someone people felt safe with,
and his presence brought comfort and steadiness to those he loved.
The bond he shared with his family was especially close, and we are deeply grateful for
the time, conversations, and connection we shared. He will be remembered for his kindness, his
humor, his resilience, and the way he made others feel valued.
His life was full, his love was deep, and everyone will carry forward his impact
who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held in April. Details will be shared at a later date.
